A key aspect of the project involved creating a flawless painted surface throughout the home. We utilized Holland Fine Paints of Europe, a premium brand known for its exceptional quality. Our rigorous process involved smoothing drywall meticulously, applying special putty to any imperfections, followed by thorough sanding and cleaning before priming. Each subsequent layer, from priming to the final coat, was followed by careful sanding and cleaning, ensuring an unparalleled level of finish. This commitment to detail resulted in a smooth, flawless canvas for the rest of the renovation.
A Comprehensive Renovation: From Drywall to Doors
Our expertise went beyond the exceptional painting, encompassing a broad range of renovation tasks. The project began with demolition and removal of doors, including French doors. We then prepped the openings by patching hinge mortises and installing framing where necessary. New drywall was installed, taped, floated, finished, and painted. Custom moldings were carefully removed, matched, installed, and painted to seamlessly blend with the existing features. To minimize disruption during construction, we installed protective coverings throughout the space, including temporary wall barriers with zippered entrances.
The project also involved extensive repairs to walls, ceilings, and trim throughout the home. We addressed several drywall patches, cut doors to size, and prepped living room walls and ceilings for further work. We performed a water test finding no issues, patched holes left by other trades, and installed blocking or framing as needed. Our meticulous prep work continued with level 5 skim coating applied to walls, ceilings, and panels. This smooth, flawless base was further enhanced by sanding and shaping bondo repairs, and the application of Fine Paints of Europe Swedish Putty to millwork and moldings for an exceptionally smooth finish.
The remaining tasks involved a series of priming, sanding, and cleaning processes before the final application of Holland Lac primer and Fine Paints of Europe finish coats. Hardware was reinstalled, final touch-ups were completed, and the space was thoroughly cleaned, leaving the homeowner with a beautifully transformed home.
